Social Braai evening for Post Graduates

Social Braai Event

A wonderful braai event evening was held at the Tygerberg High School on Friday 4 April for the Post graduate students. It was a social evening where one could spend time with family and friends and just pick up from where we last saw each other. We started off with praying together and have a victory march around the building to seal off any influences from outside.

Ladies at Social braaiThe ladies was gathered around a table and the men (as usual) gathered around the braai area. Children were playing outside enjoying a beautiful evening in Cape Town. We shared our testimonies, plans for the future and what New Life Ministries meant to all of us. Mandy Steedsman was at first the leader of the conversation filling us in with everything that is happening in their ministry. We were all concern about Lionel Sives whose wife passed away in 2013 but with Mandy and Ronald’s support we know that he will be okay. (We are still thinking of you Lionel and will not stop praying for you and the kids). Later on the big group split into smaller groups and more personal issues was dealt with (you see… once a counsellor always a counsellor). The love and coherence between each one of us was very noticeable. You see, the what started off as a very social braai event Post Graduates at Social Braai Eventended as a promising counseling get together.

Then we moved to the main course which was kicked off with a bang (literally) with Andre’s bright idea to put a tin of baked beans in the fire. Karin, Carmen and Lynette was still posing for a photo, when that tin decided to explode. Poor Lynette was covered in baked beans!!!! The meal was ended off with a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake. What a lovely social evening!

Riana thank you again for organising this event for the post graduates. I think we should have such an event annually at least. Freddie and Andre (and maybe Ronald…) thank you helping with the braai. Lynette, Charmane, Karin, Erna, Mandy, Roslean, Carmen and all the families and kids, thank you for coming. Next time we hope there will be more post graduates.

I end off with a saying of Riana: “Laat jul liggies skyn” Till next time.
